Origin: Jamaica

100% Arabica beans

Limited quantities.

Many connoisseurs agree that Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee is the world’s best. An exquisite balance of aroma, body and mocha is the medley which makes Blue Mountain Coffee very special. However, it is the mellow sweet aftertaste that separates this unique coffee from all others.

Mavis Bank remains a place where time seems to stand still. It is a corner of the world where modern conveniences sit quietly amid unspoiled terrain. Where simple sounds and the slightest temperature changes are amplified. Favored by the ultimate combination of the ideal altitude, mineral-rich soil, gentle cloud cover, mountain shade and ample sunlight, the berry grown in the Blue Mountains take longer than others to mature. More time, some claim, for its rich flavor and aroma to develop. More time, others argue, for its signature character to evolve.

Origin: Indonesia (Sumatra)

100% Arabica beans
Certified 100% Wild Asian Palm Civet by the consulate general of Indonesia in Vancouver.

Many coffee brewers and processors believe that having Asian Palm Civet create Kopi Luwak results in a better coffee product. They believe that since the cats choose to eat the coffee berries, the Asian Palm Civet must be choosing the best coffee berry possible. After the cat eats the coffee berries and then poop them out, their digestive mechanism is then believed to improve the taste and flavor profile of the coffee.

This coffee was first originally discovered by Indonesian farmers in the early 1700s when they were working on Dutch coffee plantations. Since the Indonesians natives weren’t allowed to pick the coffee berries for themselves, they decided to acquire coffee beens in a different way- by picking them out of cat droppings. They would then take those coffee beans, roast them, and brew them. As the civet coffee became more popular with the natives, the Dutch started to catch on. As a result, the coffee became very in-demand. This, however, became an issue since the demand was high, but the quantity of civet coffee beans were low (very time consuming and unnatural process). As a result, this coffee became very expensive.

Origin: Panama

100% Arabica Geisha beans
https://haciendaesmeralda.com/

HASIENDA LA ESMERALDA GEISHA PRIVATE COLLECTION
comprises three Geisha blends that celebrate our farms: Jaramillo, Cañas Verdes and El Velo. Each of these presentations are and outstanding combination of high altitude Geisha microlots from their respective farms. This collection showcases each farm’s unique story, shaped by the interaction of the elements in them, but are all unmistakably Esmeralda Geishas for their brightness, sweetness and loral attributes.

Elevation: 1600 to 1900 masl

Since 2004, Hacienda La Esmeralda Panama has gone on to win a great number of major coffee industry awards and to set several online coffee auction price records. This makes it the hardest coffee to find. No one will have it no matter the price. Fortunatly we have a friend in Panama that could source it for us. It took 6 years to get one sack.

1st in Specialty Coffee Asociation of America Roasters Guild cupping pavilion
1st in Best of Panama Naturals category
1st in Rain Forest Alianse for cupping quality

Panama is a rising star in the specialty coffee world. In the Boquete in particular, farmers are taking Arabica coffee cultivation to new levels and recent auctions of small, specialty lots have garnered record, if not silly, prices. Nonetheless, some of the coffee is excellent. Gesha, a varietal that stems from Ethiopia, has been grown here with good success, yet other cultivars noted above, can produce superb results.
